Meant to say I have seen that troop of calvary. They used to ride their horses through the pond at the top of Hampstead Heath by Jack Straw’s Castle. I sometimes saw them on my way to work in the late 1980s. I had my wedding at Jack Straw’s Castle. This poem resonates with me on so many levels. My favourite Amoore poem though is ‘Long Sight’. Hopefully, it is one you have posted here.
